Finally engaged my brain!

I can't believe how long I have left it between posts! Oops :-( I've been struggling for a camera after mine decided to die on me. My replacement then decided to have a dodgy battery. It would take one photo and would then go flat, so that was rather annoying. And then a light switched on in my brain and I thought "I can use my ipad!" Lol.

Anyway, I've been having a complete block with my mini album but then a few weeks ago I finally got in the mood and completed the second page. This album is going to take forever lol. I also made my very first card (yay) It is completely inspired by a woman called Leanne and her blog is www.luvleescrappin.blogspot.ca. She also has a brilliant youtube channel as well: www.youtube.com/user/Luvleescrappin, so definitely go check her out.

Below are the photos of my recent scrapping. The first picture is of the paper stack that I am using for the mini album. As previously posted, it is called Ciao Bella and is by DCWV.

Thanks for looking and please feel free to leave a comment. I would love some feedback.

Vicki

Ok here is my very first card that I made. All the flowers and other embellishments are from a lovely online shop called Wild Orchid Crafts and their website is as follows: http://www.wildorchidcrafts.com. The paper I used was the Latte stack and co-ordinating card stack by DCWV (They are becoming one of my favs). I also got the mat stacks that match as well.

If you would like any information on what I have done please leave me a comment and I will do my best to explain lol.

Thanks again

A few pictures

Sorry it's been so long, again, since I last posted! I haven't managed to do any more scrapping but I have managed to take some photos of the album I started that uses the Ciao Bella papers.

I've made a few mistakes on the front cover but these will be covered up once I actually decorate it. I've covered the whole picture of the bird with glossy accents and I really like the affect. The only problem is it caused my paper to shrink slightly hence there are some wrinkles but I can hide them. I was also impatient to dry the glossy accent so I decided to use my heat gun. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying enough attention and it started to bubble as I got it too hot oops! Again I will cover this with flowers or something.

On the first page I did lots of stamping and embossing which I was really pleased with. I have decided that this album is going to be really fussy seeing as though it is for me lol :-)

Anyway, thanks for looking and hopefully next time I will have some more progress for you.

Quick Update

I didn't realise how long it had been since I last posted so I thought I would just check in. Unfortunately I haven't done much scrapping lately. I have started on the album for myself and I had a change of mind about the paper. I have decided to use the Ciao Bella paper by DCWV. It's a 12" x 12" and it really is lovely. I've had it for quite a while and this is the one that gave me more inspiration.

Now for the bad news...my camera has died! I'm gutted as I always like to have it handy to take pictures of my kids. You never know when they are going to do something that just needs capturing and, at this age, they change so much so quickly I like to keep a record going (plus I need something to go in these albums lol). I don't know if I can get it fixed but I'm trying to sort out some sort of replacement for now. I'll try and post some pictures as soon as I've sorted something out.

Well that's all folks

Success!

I thought I would write a quick update to say the my boyfriends' grandma loved the album I made for her. I'm soooooo glad as it makes all the sweat and tears worth it lol.

I now hope that I will be able to complete an album for myself. I've had the "Once Upon a Time" papers by DCWV since Christmas and I've been saving them for my own album (selfish I know!) but, I just don't know if I can bring myself to cut them up lol. I even bought the mat stack that goes with it to try and make it easier but I don't want to cut them up either ha ha. I need help!

Now I'm going to catch up on some sleep as I couldn't seem to drop off last night and then the kids were up at half 6 (half an hour lie in lol) so I only got about 4 hours :-( I had to stay up and watch Laura Dennisons' Ustream class tonight though... brilliant as always.

Anyway, night all

"All Hallow's Eve" album progress

Hi there,

I've been having great fun working on my Halloween album. I've completed the first two pages so I thought I would share them on my blog.

The pocket was made by simply ripping a piece of the paper and adhering it on three sides.
I've decorated one of the tags with flowers and bling and on the other I have embossed a spider web and highlighted some of the strands with my stickles (you can't really see it in the picture). I also embossed the cat on the back of the page.
On the back you can fit a photo sized 2" x 1 1/2" (about passport size). I put a journaling spot on the other one. Originally I had stamped a circle shaped journaling spot directly to the tag but decided I didn't like it, so I cut out and stamped this journal spot and adhered to the back. I liked this much better and it also covered up the original stamping.
This next page is supposed to look like a grave yard. I have embossed the gate on the front and then adhered it on either side and cut it in half.
Inside, these are supposed to be tombstones. I printed them off my computer, coloured them with Haunted Shadows glimmer mist and then embossed them with clear UTEE. Unfortunately, when I put the UTEE on I lost a lot of the detail that was on the tombstones so I may redo them.
The backs the tombstone tags I just put journaling spots on by stamping in a silver ink.
This is just a picture of the two pages so you can see how they look next to each other.
Thanks for looking

Woohooooooooo!

I just wanted to do a quick update to say I've finally FINISHED the 'Cherish the Moments' album. Yay! I'm soooooo glad it's finished. Now I just need to wrap it and it's ready to go.

I haven't stopped grinning since I finished it and, I actually like the album again now it's finished lol.

Anyway, that's all I really wanted to say :-)

Photos, photos everywhere but, not a drop of ink!

Hi All, yesterday my mum took the kids for me so I thought I would crack on and get the photos printed for my boyfriends' Grandmas' album. I've sorted which pictures I'm using and the sizes they need to be so I was ready to just get on with it and print them. Well, I managed to print off three and that was it...my ink had run out! This album is determined not to get finished. Her birthday is on Thursday so I'm going to have to go and buy some ink today. So that's another £30 gone, sigh!

One good thing to come out of it though is I had the perfect excuse to play with one of the other albums I've started lol. I decided to continue decorating the front cover of my Halloween album. I've taken some photos and thought I would share them with you so you can see the progress I'm making.
In the picture below I've tried to tilt it so that you can see the parts that are glossy, shimmery and sparkly lol.

The roses we're the wrong colour originally so I sprayed them with Haunted Shadows glimmer mist and I was really happy with how they turned out. The title of the album is stamped in Black Soot distress ink and I then embossed it with Enchanted Gold by Papermania. I made a little tag and used my stub corner chomper so it looked a bit like a ticket. For the colour I sprayed it with the Haunted Shadows and darkened it a bit more with Black Soot. I had a stamp that said "You're Invited" but I would have had to make a much bigger tag so in the end I just wrote it on and I think it worked quite well. I thought the tree was looking a bit plain so I got my stickles and lightly "frosted" the branches. It doesn't show up very well in the pictures but, it does look quite effective. Lastly, I stamped the image of a spider with black StazOn and stuck it to a Tim Holtz Fragment and hung it off the spine.

Thanks for looking
